Washington County Secondary Roads Shop Foreman (reports to Washington area) Individual will operate, diagnose, repair or replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic parts and components in gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles, trucks and heavy highway construction and maintenance equipment and other non-motorized equipment. Responsible to maintain and repair Secondary Roads shop buildings and related equipment. Supervises the Mechanic and Parts and Service Technician to ensure the proper servicing and repair of County vehicles and equipment, including use of hand and mechanical tools. Maintains County equipment records and assists the County Engineer and Road Maintenance Superintendent in preparing specification bid sheets for new equipment. High school graduate or GED equivalency with seven years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or substituting satisfactory completion of technical training in mechanical equipment repair at a recognized trade or community college for two years of the required experience. Possession of at least a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tank endorsement required, a Class A license is preferred.
