Washington County Secondary Roads Parts and Service Technician Orders, receives and issues various supplies, tools, equipment and vehicle parts for the repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles and equipment. Receives stock and reviews invoices to ensure orders are accurate and prices are as quoted; working with numerous vendors to obtain the best price. Maintains accurate inventory records to anticipate needs. Prepares and maintains shop repair tickets and records of maintenance for each piece of County owned equipment. Schedules routine service of County owned equipment. Must be able to service equipment, including hand and mechanical tools, vehicles, and equipment operated by county staff. Assists in maintaining the shop buildings by doing necessary cleaning, sweeping and repair work on doors, roof, heating systems, changing light bulbs, etc. Operates all equipment and vehicles and hauls equipment including, but not limited to automobiles, pickups, single & tandem axle dump trucks, bulldozers, end loaders, excavators, motor graders, tractors, and mowers; some of which may be equipped with snow removal equipment. High School diploma or GED required and one (1) year of job experience in parts supply, inventory or related field and one (1) year of job experience in related mechanical repairs and service, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that will have provided the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
