About

Since its organization on December 29, 1967, the Washington Concert Association, working in partnership with Allied Concert Services, has brought high-quality professional musicians from all over the world to perform for our community. The majority of our concerts are held in the beautiful McCleery Theater on the Washington County Fair Grounds. One of the distinctions of the WCA is that the board members always host a dinner/reception for the artists following their performance. This gives the artists and board members a chance to get to know each other, and the artists enjoy having a home-cooked meal. Washington is known for "great audiences and great food!" Each season is made up of a combination of performances from Allied Concert Services and local Iowa musicians. Attendance is by season membership ($50 for an adult membership) or a ticket may be purchased at the door for a single concert ($18 for an adult). There is no charge for high school students and younger, thanks to the generosity of our patrons. We have reciprocity with Fairfield, Ottumwa, Centerville, and Keokuk. Patron support pays for over half of our expenses, thus enabling us to keep our season tickets very affordable. We appreciate our patrons very much.
