VOTE FOR CATHY RICH FOR COUNCIL AUGUST 6, 2024!!! There is a very important election on August 6th for the Brighton voters, and I would like to set the record straight. Thanks to Cathy Rich the City of Brighton is on track for not only a balanced budget but future growth. A good example of this is the Brighton Volunteer Fire Department Fund. Those funds are currently $499,000.00 and growing at an interest rate of 5.1%. It had been in CD's at an average interest rate of .75%. Now that's a fact. Cathy Rich at no cost to the City has given expertise in bookkeeping and set an example of how a budget should be run in the City. She was the recipient of the Certified Elected Municipal Official Award given by the Iowa League of Cities in 2021. Now I've been a citizen of Brighton for over 42 years, and I've always admired over the years the way folks volunteer and serve in the community. Let's not miss the chance to elect a council person who knows the ropes of city finance and is well respected throughout Washington County.
