About
Red Cedar’s core ensemble members are violinist Miera Kim and cellist Carey Bostian. They invite guest artists from around the U.S. to join them for innovative programming with an engaging narrative. Miera Kim & Carey Bostian have concertized together since 2000. In 2016 they became the directors and core ensemble of the 501(c)3 organization Red Cedar Chamber Music, an organization founded in 1997. Red Cedar Chamber Music brings innovative and entertaining concert projects and residency programs to broad and diverse audiences.
Each season, Red Cedar Chamber Music brings nearly 100 enlightening and entertaining performances to audiences in Eastern Iowa and beyond. Most events are free.
The MainStage Concert Series presents three programs each season in formal concerts in both Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. Community Connections brings chamber music into the nooks and crannies of every day life, reaching kids, seniors, workers and families when and where they normally congregate. Community Connections includes Music for Seniors, Music in Libraries, and Music for Kids. Rural Outreach Concerts enrich small, rural communities with live chamber music.

Red Cedar is known for commissioning and premiering new chamber music works, having commissioned more than 60 works since 1997.
Red Cedar Chamber Music records exclusively for Fleur De Son Classics (NY). Their most recent disc features the chamber music of composer Harvey Sollberger.
